Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
National parks serve as vital conservation areas that protect wildlife and their habitats. Kainji National Park, located in Niger State, is one of Nigeria's premier conservation areas, home to diverse species of flora and fauna. However, despite its ecological significance, the park faces challenges such as insufficient awareness, reduced visitation, and limited funding for conservation initiatives. Wildlife photography has the power to draw attention to the beauty and biodiversity of national parks, thereby raising awareness and promoting the importance of conservation. By capturing striking images of the park’s wildlife and landscapes, photography can highlight the park's ecological value, attract tourists, and foster local and global support for conservation efforts.
